The Shockwaves Scholarship program was initiated in 2011 to encourage swim team participation, and keep swimmers at all age levels involved in the swim program. The scholarship program provides us a way to reward the swimmers (and their parents) who devote time and effort to the Shockwaves; especially to those who have committed over the long term.

Eligibility:

1. The swimmer must be enrolled in an accredited institution of higher learning (University, Junior College, or Trade School) with plans to enter the subsequent fall semester.
2. Swim for the Shockwaves during both the Junior and Senior years to qualify for any scholarship award.

Guidelines:

1. Every year a child fully participates in summer league for the Northpointe Shockwaves he/she earns a monetary scholarship credit (see chart below).
2. The payable amount will max out at $500 regardless of actual credit total.
3. All swimmers PreK-10th grade must swim 4 of 5 dual meets AND Divisionals (Division Finals) for each season to qualify for that season's credit.
4. All junior and senior swimmers must participate in 3 of 5 dual meets AND Divisionals (or Division Finals)
5. Participation in a meet is defined as:
   • 6 & Under: competing in one (1) individual event.
   • 7-8 years: competing in two (2) individual events. 
   • 9 years +: competing in three (3) individual events. 
   • All swimmers must compete in at least one (1) relay, if entered.
6. A tuition bill must be provided to the Shockwaves Treasurer and/or President to verify enrollment.
7. Scholarship check may be made payable to the swimmer or directly to the institution, if preferred.
